As an attorney, I enjoy helping people learn, prepare, and make important legal decisions. 

Private Clients

While my current focus is criminal defense, I have experience in estate planning, probate/trust administration, real estate, guardianship, conservatorship, adoption, some civil disputes, and other matters. I currently take one day each week for these types of private matters.

Public Defense

I enjoy serving most of each week as a public defender in the St. George District Court and Cedar City Drug/Recovery Court. I get to serve with great judges, court staff, and prosecutors—each of whom play a vital part in our justice system. 

I love advocating for people who are making significant changes in their lives. I admire and am inspired by the way many of my clients face enormous challenges with humility, accountability, determination, and faith. It is a privilege to meet and serve people from all walks of life. I pray to see each person for who they are and who they can become, and to represent in the best way I can. 

When I am not at work, I am with my family. My wife and I have six (soon to be seven) children, each of whom has their own personality, strengths, and challenges. Together, we enjoy exploring different cultures, food, art, religions, people, and places (and would love to travel more. Together, we work through life’s challenges and try to find joy in the journey.

Estate Planning

I am in the process of creating an online tool to help people who need just a little more guidance with their estate planning. This online resource will not provide direct legal advice or assistance, but can be a foundation for those who want to do their own estate planning or prepare to work with an attorney. With over a decade of experience in estate planning, this tool will allow me to share my knowledge and experience in a way that is more accessible and affordable.
